Welcome to our kitchen, join us for a week’s cooking course and discover the magic of the green heart Italy

Umbrian cuisine is authentic and hearty, rooted in the abundance of fresh, seasonal ingredients drawn from its fertile soil, farms and forests. Steeped in generations of tradition, the cooking is unpretentious, featuring a few carefully chosen ingredients that come together in perfect harmony to create truly flavourful dishes.

Your week-long course will provide you with a solid foundation in Italian cooking and food preparation, all while savoring exceptional local wines and enjoying delicious meals with fellow participants. Throughout the week, you’ll discover the unique charm of Umbria—its unspoiled beauty and undeniable allure will leave you enchanted.

Our cooking week

Our classes are small and hands on, with a max of 8 (cooking) guests taught by our chef Samuele. This allows everyone the chance to cook several dishes and give you the confidence to prepare and cook tasty Italian dishes that will wow friends and family.

Schedule

Here is an example of our typical week offering a balanced mix of cooking classes and free time to enjoy your personal choice of activities and the surrounding area. If you have any special requests let us know and we will work with our chef to customize your experience to fit your preferences.

Saturday

Arrival and settle in before enjoying a welcome supper of lentil soup, sautéed vegetables, cured meats and the famous Umbrian bread ‘torta al testo’.

Dinner 7:30pm

Sunday

The morning is yours to acquaint yourself with and enjoy the local area. Then roll up our sleeves and let’s get cooking. We will start with pasta and 3 delicious sauces, a dessert. Enjoy with some local wine.

Monday

A guided walking tour of Perugia – the artistic and historic jewel of Umbria. Then enjoy a dinner in a restaurant of your choice.

Tuesday

Enjoy a morning walk or cycle on a local trail or simply relax at the pool. Then we will cook risotto with braised beef or veggies and a special Umbrian dessert.

Wednesday

An exciting day truffle hunting, then onto a wine estate for 5 x wine tasting and a lunch prepared by our chef with the truffle hunted, if you find truffles, so no slacking or no lunch!

Thursday

Cooking class late afternoon, gnocchi with chicken, salad and dessert.

Friday

Our last cooking class, bbq grilled local produce.

After lunch take time out to relax.

Our Chef

Samuele is a highly experienced chef who began his career in the kitchen at the age of 13. Over the years, he has honed his skills in some of the finest kitchens, including those with Michelin stars. He now chooses to share his passion by teaching and inspiring others to discover the joy of true Italian cooking.

While Samuele has worked with high-level cuisine, his class recipes are refreshingly simple, unpretentious, and designed for home cooks of all skill levels. Focusing on fresh, seasonal ingredients, he offers invaluable tips on how to select, handle, and maximise their potential. Known for his expertise in pasta, risotto, and fresh meats, his dishes have earned him a reputation that’s the envy of many in the culinary community.

A 20% non refundable deposit is payable on reservation. Balance payable six weeks prior to arrival.

Prices are exclusive of flights and car rental. Rather than transport our guests around in one large group, having your own car allows you flexibility to choose your own programme.

Your Accommodation

The entire hamlet will be for the exclusive use of our cooking guests and partners.

Each bedroom has a king size or twin beds, ensuite.

Everything is provided for your comfort and our top of the range mattresses and excellent linen will ensure you have a welcome and comfortable nights’ sleep.
